With deepest gratitude, Dogs For Veterans Foundation extends our heartfelt thanks to Charter Oak Credit Union for their remarkable commitment to animal welfare and veteran support across the state of Connecticut. Their generous $5,000 grant has been a true lifeline for our mission, directly translating into meaningful, measurable impact in the lives of those who have served our country.
Thanks to Charter Oak's support, we have been able to place 2 service and companion animals with veterans in need—providing loyal, trained companions that offer comfort, security, and a renewed sense of purpose. Beyond the placements, this grant has allowed us to help 8 members across 2 families in their ongoing fight with PTSD, giving them the support and stability they deserve as they navigate the challenges of life after service.

$1,500 Grant Award Recipient
Feeding Our Future Heroes
We are honored to announce that Dogs For Veterans Foundation has been awarded a $1,500 grant from The Rota Foundation. This generous support will directly feed at least 2 of our rescue dogs for a minimum of 6 months as we work toward our goal of rescuing and training 20 dogs. These dogs are being prepared to become life-saving service companions for veterans in need.
Every rescue dog we save represents hope for a veteran struggling with PTSD, depression, or thoughts of suicide. Thanks to The Rota Foundation's support, we can ensure these future heroes receive proper nutrition and care during their training journey. This partnership exemplifies the power of community support in making a real difference in the lives of both animals and the heroes who serve our country.

The VA's support helps us better serve the veteran community and reinforces the critical role that service animals play in veteran wellness and recovery.
Vocational Training Partner
Empowering Students Through Real-World Experience
We are honored to partner with the Parish Hill Transition Opportunities for Post-Secondary Success (PHTOPS), a specialized program designed for students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities ages 18-22. This program prepares students to transition into the workforce by providing hands-on experience across different career paths in real-world settings.
Through this partnership, PHTOPS students gain invaluable vocational training at our facility, learning essential workplace skills such as animal care, responsibility, teamwork, and communication—all while contributing to our mission of rescuing and training service dogs for veterans. Students receive direct instruction in independent living, workplace readiness, and self-advocacy, building confidence as they explore career opportunities.
This collaboration creates a meaningful impact for everyone involved: students gain career experience and job-readiness skills, our rescue dogs receive dedicated care and attention, and veterans ultimately benefit from well-trained service companions. We're proud to be part of this program's network of 15+ community partnerships, helping prepare the next generation for productive, independent futures.
